The Nile special National open pool regional Qualifiers come to a climax this weekend.
The last regional games will be held in Kawempe Division with four venues.
Big zone Nansana is expected to have tough competition after having three quarters of the competitors Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) licensed players belonging to several pool clubs.
Allan Nsubuga who qualified at Big zone last year will be on the same agenda on Friday to see whether he can go through the qualifiers.
The other names that make Big zone a difficult venue include senior player Moses Mukwaya who has a 12 years experience of professional pool having played for 5 pool clubs.
Mukwaya will be looking for the first time to qualify for the National open pool grand finals after failing to qualify for the past years.
Others include club Icon’s top gun Arafat Senjala and teamate Ibrahim Mulindwa, Spices’ Patrick Mujuzi, James Kawoya, Paul Luyombya and many others.
At Eden service Park Bwaise, Jimmy Sematta will be the main man to watch. He qualified at DB9 Kalerwe last year as the First runner up.
Sematta plays for Ntinda pool club which is on top of league one and is one of the key players of his club.
On Saturday DB 9 Kalerwe will be hosting Uganda’s slowest player Idd Walusimbi who qualified at Daina’s Kanyanya last year.
He qualified at High table in 2011 and finished in the last eight. He will face his former teammates Jimmy Ekisa and Jeff Akichoth who are most likely to pose a big challenge to him.
Experienced Herbert Kayuke will also be among the competitors for the last slots to the Grand finals.
The Grand finals host 128 players 120 who pass through qualifiers plus the top 8 seeds.
All qualifiers will know their opponents on the 25th August 2014 after the draws which are to be done at Emerad Hotel.
Nile Special has sponsored the event to a tune of over U.shs 500M. The winner will drive home a brand new Toyota Brevis, a pool table and U.shs 2M cash prize.
