The Ugandan Junior Basketball National Teams, consisting of the Junior Silverbacks and Junior Gazelles, have faced a hostile reception in Tanzania ahead of the U16 Qualifiers.
Hudson Ssegamwenge, the Head of Delegation, confirmed that the team’s treatment has been poor, leaving the players in a concerning mental state.
“Since our arrival, it has been a challenging experience,” he stated.
“We landed yesterday (Wednesday) and were driven to Kibaha, but we spent the night in the lobby because the hosts did not provide accommodation.”

“We have tried to communicate with various governing bodies and are awaiting their responses. We thought we had moved past such issues in the sport, but the situation is disappointing.
“The team is not in good condition, and we need your prayers to help us navigate through this unfortunate circumstance for the game,” he concluded.
In a similar vein, Michael Seger, one of the former coaches, expressed his frustration on social media regarding the poor treatment.
His post highlighted that “the Ugandan delegation was advised to sleep in the buses that picked them up from the airport on Wednesday night due to the hosts’ terrible planning.”
The zonal qualifiers are scheduled to take place from Thursday, July 12, to Saturday, July 14, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Yiiyi Edwin nga news story eli very summarized. First of all were there any comments from the hosts and if not what was the response from the Ugandan side. Plus why are they playing these zonal games. Not to be a hater or anything but this story is so shallow
Just wondering; if the qualifiers are scheduled to take place from, July 12, July 14 what are the teams doing in Dar a month earlier?
