The theme for the 16th CISM World Military Golf Championship is “Friendship through sport”.

Uganda representatives at the 16th CISM World Military Golf Championship, Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) is determined to return with silverware.
The championship is happening at the Diamond Leisure Beach and Golf Resort at the Kenyan South Coast in the county of Kwale.
Uganda’s team is composed of Flavia Namakula, Bobi Drani, Evelyn Asiimwe, William Omaria, Lawrence Walakira, Aggrey Mutaka and Steven Odong.
“We are giving our best in the championship” Namakula remarked.
The championship theme is “Friendship through sport”.
Chief of the Kenyan Delegation to CISM Major General David Ketter Kipkemboi welcomed all the visiting delegation of countries.
Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and South Africa are the African countries in competition.
The European countries include Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Italy, Estonia, France, Spain and Lativia.
Others are Bangladesh, Canada, India and Bahrain.
During round one, Panagiotis Pantazopoulos from Greece led day one with 1-under 71.
Vd Walt (South Africa) followed suit with 72. Tmael Tasset (France), Pauline Stein (France) and Varoon Parmar (India) are all at 2-over 73.
