UCU Lady Canons secured a well-deserved 71-62 win over the JT Lady Jaguars in a National Basketball League encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
Sylvia Nantongo’s turnaround jump shot opened a five-point lead for UCU Lady Canons at the end of the first quarter.
Aziida Nabayunga’s jump shot beyond the arc capped the second quarter as the JT Lady Jaguars trailed by five points (36-31).
At the end of the game, the Lady Canons secured a nine-point victory.
Matrina Anyango (18 points and 13 rebounds) and Shillah Lamunu (11 points and 16 rebounds) led the Lady Canons from either end of the court with double-doubles.
On the other hand, Mercy Batamuliza led the Lady Jaguars with a double-double dropping 13 points and pulling down 14 rebounds.
The victory takes Lady Canons to the second position with 29 points in 18 games while JT Lady Jaguars hold onto the log summit after their fourth loss of the season.
