Holders Senegal have replaced Congo Brazzaville in the Four-nation Pre-Chan tournament, the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) has confirmed.
The tournament is set to prepare co-hosts Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania that will be held in Arusha scheduled for July 21-27, 2025.
“We are happy to announce that Senegal have accepted to take part in the Tournament after Congo Brazzaville communicated that they had encountered some logistical challenges and could not make the trip as earlier planned,” said Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director.
Kenya’s Harambee Stars will open their campaign against Uganda Cranes, while Tanzania face Senegal on the same day July 21st.
Match Day 2 will see Senegal take on Uganda, while Tanzania battle Kenya on July 24th.
Uganda and Senegal will open proceedings in the early kick-off on Thursday, July 24, before Kenya’s Harambee Stars face a fiery test against Tanzania later that afternoon.
The Africa Nations Championship will be kick off on August 2 and conclude on August 30.
