Hilton High School beach volleyball team on the offensive against Bukedea Comprehensive school

Hilton High School Mukono's beach volleyball team has Godwin Seth Wamini, Francis Odongkara, Denis Rubangakene and AbdulHakim Kamanyire under the guidance of experienced coach Johnson Kawenyera.

Following a second-place finish at the recently concluded 2025 USSSA Ball Games 2 in beach volleyball, Hilton High School Mukono has now set the bar high, to maintain the podium finish at the forthcoming FEASSA Games in Kakamega city, Kenya.

For starters, Hilton High School Mukono scooped silver after falling to champions Bukedea Comprehensive School 2-0 (19-21, 15-21) in the final played at St Peter’s College, Tororo.

The duo of Godwin Seth Wamini and Francis Odongkara were joined the other crew in Denis Rubangakene and AbdulHakim Kamanyire under the guidance of experienced coach Johnson Kawenyera.

To progress to the final, Hilton High School had defeated St Mary’s College Rushorozza 2-0 (21-15, 21-10) in the semi-final whilst Bukedea Comprehensive school edged Ngora High School 2-0 (21-19, 21-15).

The school games teacher Ronald Mukama is optimistic of a great performance come the FEASSA Games in Kakamega.

“I want to thank the team that won silver at the nationals in Tororo. It was a brave display. Now, the focus turns to the East African Games in Kakamega, Kenya. We shall fight our hearts out for the best performance” Mukama hints.

Uganda will be represented in beach volleyball at the FEASSA games by Bukedea Comprehensive School, Hilton High School Mukono and St Mary’s College Rushorozza (boys).

The girls’ delegation has champions Bukedea Comprehensive School, Seroma Christian High School and Ngora High School.

Beach volleyball will make a debut at the FEASSA Games as a demonstration sport alongside Lacrosse, beach soccer and cricket.

The FEASSA Games menu also has Football, Scrabble, Chess, Rugby (7’s and 15’s), Basketball (3×3 and 5X5), Handball, Volleyball, Netball, Hockey, Badminton, Lawn Tennis and Table Tennis.
