Overview:
Abraham Ainamani’s score card had 5 birdies (5,6,7 and 17), 10 pars (on holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18), a bogie (16) and an eye-catching eagle on the par-5 hole 8.
In honour of the departed professional golfer Brian Toolit, the golfing fraternity organized a memorial championship at the par-72 Uganda Golf Club.
This tournament is involving the professionals and top gross golfers in the country playing together.
After round one, Abraham Ainamani led the way with a 5-under score of 67 gross.

He is closely followed by female professional Irene Nakalembe who played 4-under-68.
Marvin Kibirige is third with 2-under-70 as the trio of Michael Tumusiime (amateur), Ronald Rugumayo and David Kamulindwa are all one-under-71.




Six golfers played under par in a largely impressive round under sunny weather.
Seven golfers are tied in 7th place with level par (72); Abbey Bagalana, Davis Kato, Maurice Ashaba, Joel Kahuma, Denis Kabarira, Bright Kato and Charles Lwanga Mulyanga.
42 golfers made the day one cut and proceed to the second round due on Wednesday, 30th July 2025.
Day one leader Ainamani, Nakalembe, Kibirige and Tumusiime will tee off in main pressure group at 10:40 am.
A total of 114 golfers played the opening round.
The professionals are playing for a total kitty of Ug.Shs 15,000,000.
