CHAN 2024 (Group B):
- Tanzania 2-0 Burkina Faso
Tanzania earned a 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso in Group B of the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN), PAMOJA 2024 at Benjamin Mpaka Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam on Saturday, 2nd August 2025.
Abdul Hamisi Suleiman and Mohamed Hussein Mohamed scored in each half of the game played before a sold-out crowd under floodlights.


Hamisi, a forward at Azam Football Club, struck a penalty on the stroke of halftime to light up the atmosphere of thousands inside the stadium.
Hussein headed home the second with 20 minutes to play to extend the lead.
The goal was initially not given before but the referee needed VAR to count the goal.
Tanzania now tops Group B, which also has the Central African Republic (CAR), Madagascar, Mauritania and Burkina Faso.


Mauritania and islander Madagascar face off in group B’s second game on Sunday.
Action will also switch over to Kenya in group A. Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will take on the hosts Kenya in the early kick-off.
The TotalEnergies CAF CHAN, PAMOJA 2024 is co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from 02–30 August 2025.


CHAN is a competition that is exclusively played by domestic players within the respective country leagues on the African continent.
Senegal is the defending champion.
