2025 FEASSA Games (Football – Group B):

  • Bukedea Comprehensive School (Uganda) 2-0 Benjamin Mpaka High School (Tanzania)

With the early elimination of St Mary’s Kitende, Buddo SS and the 2023 winners Amus College, Uganda’s only remaining team at FEASSA 2025 games in boy’s football is Bukedea Comprehensive School.

Bukedea Comprehensive School reached the semi-finals with a calculative 2-0 victory over Benjamin Mpaka High School in group B.

This was during their last group game contest played at the Kakamega playground (outside field).

Assimwe, a left footed midfielder shot past Benjamin Mpaka goalkeeper Flugence Ndimbo two minutes after the half hour mark for the 1-0 lead by the mandatory half time break.

Forward Wanyama who had missed several goal scoring chances eventually laced up the boots with a beautiful long range shot for the second goal.

The victory spurred Bukedea Comprehensive school to 14 points and a berth to the semi-finals where they will face Butere SS (Kenya).

Bukedea Comprehensive School is now the only school from Uganda to advance to the semi-finals of this year’s FEASSA Games in boys’ football.

Ronald Ssali, the head coach of Bukedea Comprehensive saluted the effort of his charges, with a game plan well executed.

“This was a like a quarter final match that we needed to win in order to make it to the semi-finals” Ssali hinted.

“Before the game, we had a plan and it worked to perfection. We started with solid defence to avoid conceding as we look for the goal and we have done it” he added.

The semi-finals will be played on Thursday, 21st August 2025 ahead of Friday’s grand finale.
