Sommet Basketball Club levelled the series against City Oilers, thus forcing a game five in the ongoing National Basketball League playoffs.

Sommet secured a hard-fought 86-83 victory against City Oilers in the NBL encounter at YMCA Court, Wandegeya on Wednesday evening.

Sommet won game one before falling in games two and three; however, clinching game four ignites the series and sets up a thrilling game five.

Rogers John Baptist Dauna concluded the first period by successfully making a free throw, tying the game at 20-20 and setting up an exciting match.

Ben Komakech’s three-point jump shot concluded the second period tying the game at 44, sending both teams into the halftime break at the same page.

Coming from the break, Mark Ngobi’s layup put Sommet ahead by two points, 61-59, as they entered the final period.

It was a see-saw affair as the Oilers kept knocking on the door but Sommet held on to grab a three-point victory on the day.

Fataki Nyembo delivered an exhilarating performance, scoring a game-high 23 points and grabbing 17 rebounds for a double-double.

Still in the double figures column, Mark Ngobi scored 20 points, and Tembo Kasereka added 16 points for Sommet.

Titus Lual (15 points), Kurt Wegscheider (15 points) and Mer Maker (12 points) scored double digits for the City Oilers.

The two sides will meet in game five on Friday, September 26 at YMCA Court, Wandegeya.
