Uganda’s lightweight professional boxer Sharif “The Lion” Bogere, wants to wear the FAMOUS GREEN BELT(WBC lightweight division) next year if given a chance to fight for it at any level in his weight division.

“I want the green belt but it looks the guy who got is moving to a different weight,” Bogere said in a message, “I’m just waiting my turn. Inn Sha Allah.”

American Omar Figueroa Junior who is the WBC lightweight champion and is under the same promotion company Golden Boy Promotions that also promotes the Las Vegas based Ugandan intends to move up the division thus making that belt vacant.

“This year that will not happen, but I expect Big Things next year,” Bogere added. “Another fight in the beginning of the year will see me most likely getting a title shot.”

Last year Bogere suffered his first career defeat against Cuban Richar Abril as he contested against the World Boxing Association Ligthweight champion, but the Ugandan fighter was adamant about his defeat.

“I never lost to Abril in the fight and the judges gave out a very unfair result in that fight,” Bogere said. “I beat him on the cards and now he cannot ask for a rematch cause he knows I will beat him.”

The flamboyant Ugandan fighter last week knocked out Fernando Garcia in the fifth round of there 10 rounder to register his third straight win in 2014 and improve his record to (26-1-0, 18 KOs).
