Besides the mental health sports gala, Munnange Counseling Centre has also organized an open discussion on social media platform, X (formerly Twitter) which will take place on the 10th October 2025. There will be a tree planting drive at Divine Child Primary School on 15th October 2025 in a bid to conserve and preserve the environment. This will lead to the 4th Annual Mental Health Awareness Day for Friday, 17th October 2025 at Nkumba University under the theme “Empowering Minds: Strengthening Adolescent and Youth Health”.
Mental Health Sports Gala 2025:
- Netball: Munnange Counseling Centre 3-7 St Dennis Vocational Training Center, Nkumba
- Volleyball: Munnange Counseling Centre 0-2 St Dennis Vocational Training Center, Nkumba
- Football: Munnange Counseling Centre 1-2 St Dennis Vocational Training Center, Nkumba
A comprehensive society building strategy revolves around a wholesome approach, one that is applicable, aggressive, user-friendly, and practicable.
In all communities world-over, varying mechanisms are enhanced to ensure the development of a morally up-right, productive and responsible citizenry.
It is upon this rich background that Munnange Counseling Centre (MCC), a non-governmental organization based in Nkumba, Katabi Town council – Wakiso district in the land-locked East African country of Uganda was founded.
Now coming to 15 years since inception, Munnange Counseling Center has necessitated a great deal in behavioral change in community with vital counseling services to either-gender, the young and aged, the marginalized and filthy rich as well as the oppressed like the prisoners.


As part of the key activities leading to the fourth annual mental awareness day slated for 17th October 2025, Munnange Counseling Centre organized a tranquil Mental Health Sports Gala at St Dennis Vocational Training Center in Nkumba, one of their crucial partners over the years.
This Mental Health Sports Gala was proceeded by a largely successful counseling pip-talk to the students and staff at St Dennis Vocational Training Center, Nkumba led by a professional team of counselors from Munnange Counseling Centre and Rescue The Poor, another NGO in the vicinity of Nkumba.






Life skills, experiences, testimonies and counseling tips were part of the agenda for the session conducted at the main hall of St Dennis Vocational Training Center, Nkumba.
After the session, a delicious luncheon was served to the guests before sporting events took their toll.
Fun games, netball, volleyball and finally football thrilled many spectators following with a keen eye.





In all the sports disciplines, the hosts (St Dennis Vocational Training Center, Nkumba) were heads and shoulders above their visitors from Munnange Counseling Centre and the well-wishers.
Seasoned Mental Health expert, Jamilah Nantale, the team leader from Munnange Counseling Centre was full of praise for all the participants.

In the same vein, Nantale lauded the different stakeholders who combined resources, effort and knowledge to make this sports gala eventful.
“We had a very successful mental health sports gala that also had counseling sessions embedded. I am grateful to all the participants and persons who helped us organize a very successful event” Nantale, who has been at Munnange Counseling Centre since inception remarked.




St Dennis Vocational Training Center’s clean sweep of the games witnessed their triumph in netball 7-4, Volleyball (2-0) and Football (2-1) over Munnange Counseling Centre and guests before a colorful awards presentation ceremony was executed.
Individual persons as Hellen Nalubowa, Ashiraf Lutaaya, Joan Mutuwa, Samuel Nsubuga, David Isabirye and others were recognized with medals of brilliance before the trophy was given to St Dennis Vocational Training Center Nkumba amid jubilations.

Students from various institutions, educators, health professionals and community members will converge to openly discuss the agenda and forge workable solutions in a bid to prioritize youth mental well-being.
Nationally, the National Mental Health celebrations will be held on 31st October 2025.
