- Safari 7s | Matchday 3 | Sunday, October 12
- Uganda vs. Kenya Cubs – 8:22 a.m.
Uganda’s hopes at the Safari 7s now rest on the shoulders of the Lady Rugby Cranes’ 12 players, with their technical support staff.
The Lady Rugby Cranes have so far performed to expectation at the Safari 7s, coming out on top in the renewed rivalry with Belgium, dominating Tunisia, and then putting up a good fight against Kenya.
In their last Pool game, the Cranes dug deep, but were ultimately outclassed by the hosts, Kenya Lionesses.
A last-ditch effort from Suzan Adong wasn’t enough to stop the charging Naome Amuguni, who released and picked the ball, making no mistake, with the try line in sight.

The Lady Cranes promptly responded early in the second half through a Lydia Namabiro try, but it wasn’t converted.
For the remainder of the game, the Cranes held their own against a physical Lionesses who kept pounding, ultimately adding two unconverted tries for a 17-5 win.
Two wins and a loss in the Pool phase were just enough to set the Lady Cranes up for a quarterfinal clash against the Kenya Cubs.
The Lady Cranes are in line to face Belgium (again) in the semifinals.
