Kampala University has secured a well-deserved 3-1 victory against Mountains of the Moon in the University Football League in Fort Portal on Monday.
Raymond Kiweewa, Gilbert Wanuume and Joseph Kimera were on target for Kampala University while David Ahebwa pulled back one for the hosts.
Kiweewa nodded the visitors ahead thanks to Kevin Azabo’s delivery in the fourth minute before the crowd had fully settled to watch the action.
Wanuume nearly doubled Kampala University’s lead in the 10th minute but his effort was cleared off the line.
The visitors kept knocking on the door but Mountains of the Moon’s backline stood tall and firm going into the halftime break with one goal deficit.
Five minutes into the second half, Julius Kaahwa’s effort bounced off the woodwork as the visitors kept knocking on the door.
Wanuume finally doubled the lead for Kampala University after connecting with Kimera’s delivery in the 70th minute.
After setting up for Wanuume, Kimera got his name on the scoresheet with a stunning free kick in the 86th minute.
Three minutes later the hosts pulled back one through Ahebwa who curled home a beautiful freekick.
