The most challenging aspect of taking on a new role is not the skills you need to learn, but the old identity you have to let go of. At this stage, one ought to view the challenge not as a burden, but as the fire that shapes and transforms the new version of yourself.
In the same breath, Sammy Raynald Ssebaduka has transitioned to a new role as a full-back, unlike his previous position as an attacking winger.
In an interview with the club media, Ssebaduka revealed that he has fully embraced his new role and is enjoying it.
“I am enjoying my new role on the team. It is about adapting to the coaches’ demands and putting the team first,” Ssebaduka was quoted by the KCCA website.
“I hardly had game time in my first year, but I kept working. I am hopeful that my hard work is the reason I am on the team now,” he added.
Speaking about Ssebaduka’s transition and quick rise, KCCA co-head coach Jackson Magera has attributed the development to professionalism and refusal to give up,” the gaffer noted.
“Sammy’s development is because of his professionalism and refusal to give up. He came to us as a winger, but he has embraced the challenge of converting to a full back,” he added.
“His work rate and technical ability have made him a key player for us. He puts the badge first and has great character and attitude.”
KCCA will be back in action on Thursday, October 16 as they take on Lugazi at Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
