Game 1: Canada Women’s Tour To Uganda
- Canada 67 all out
- Uganda 68/3
- Uganda won by 7 wickets
Victoria Pearls made light work of the visiting Canada women’s team in the opening game of the Victoria Series.
The hosts picked a very experienced side led by Janet Mbabazi and she had the experience of Consy Aweko, Stephanie Nampiina, Kevin Awino, Immaculate Nakisuyi and Vice Captain Rita Musamali to call on.
Uganda won the toss and elected to bowl. A thought about the weather must have influenced the decision and if the goal is to win make sure you will easily.
Kevin Amuge broke the opening stand in the third and while the wickets didnt come quickly, the hosts kept it very tidy together with Consy Aweko from the other end.

Amuge finished with figures of 4/17 in her quota of four overs, the other wickets were claimed by Immaculate Nakisuyi (2/13) and Naomi Amongin (1/13).
Canada stuck in first gear for most of the game but credit to the Ugandans who never let them get away by holding on their chances and being very clinical in the field.
In the run chase, Esther Iloku departed early but Captain Janet Mbabazi (37 not out) carried her bat with support from Immaculate Nakisuyi and Rita Musamali as the hosts cruised to a commanding seven wicket win.

A routine win for the hosts in the 1st game of their five match series and they will be in action tomorrow.
Amuge picking up the player of match award for her fine bowling performance of 4/17.
