Newly promoted outfit, Calvary FC, registered their first point in the Uganda Premier League after holding Maroons FC to a goalless draw in Luzira on Wednesday.
The Yumbe-based team had lost their opening two games of the season and were desperate to post something on the board.
Despite taking the lead against Lugazi in their season opener, Calvary went ahead to lose 3-1. In their second game, they lost 2-0 to fellow newcomers Buhimba United Saints.
Today, they fought tooth and nail to secure a hard-fought point at the Prisons Ground in Luzira.
Maroons coach Umar Abdallah made no changes from the team that had won 2-1 away to UPDF but they were forced to make an early one at the half-hour mark with Baden Mujahid replacing Emmanuel Obua.
Neither side really got clear-cut chances, and the game eventually ended in a barren stalemate.
The draw means Calvary moves from the bottom of the table and up to 13th place while Maroons, on the other hand, climb up to 9th on four points.
