Kitara FC put a halt to BUL’s brilliant start to the season, condemning them to their first loss of the 2025/26 campaign.
In the game played on Thursday at the Royals Park, Butema, Kitara secured a 1-0 win courtesy of James Kalema’s goal.
Actually, BUL’s unbeaten run had stretched to 25 games, with their previous League loss dating back to 4th December 2024 against UPD FC.
In a closely contested game, Kalema got the all-important goal for the Royals in the 11th minute, scoring from the rebound after goalkeeper Farouk Yawe had parried Frank Tumwesigye’s cross into his path.
BUL played the bigger part of the game with a man less, following the sending off of Cameroonian defender Barni Kelvin Tah in the 28th minute for a second bookable offense. He had already been cautioned in the 13th minute.
Despite efforts by BUL to salvage at least a point, the home side defended resiliently to take all three points.
Victory takes Kitara FC to third place on ten points, the same as BUL FC, who now drop to fifth position.
