Khalid Aucho’s Singida Black Stars earned their maiden point in the TotalEnergies Caf Confederation Cup following a 1-1 draw with South Africa’s Stellenbosch in Zanzibar.

In Group D, substitute Silva earned a point for Kaizer Chiefs in the last minute of the game denying the Egyptian side Zamalek victory in a tight contest.

Zamalek had led from the third minute, Seifeddine Jaziri finishing an early move to put the 2023/24 winners in front.

Mohamed Hashem, Mounder Tenime and Abderrahim Deghmoum scored the goals for the Egyptian side while Freddy Kouablan and substitute Peter Musukuma got Zesco United’s consolations.

In Nairobi, hosts Nairobi United lost 1-0 to DR Congo’s AS Maniema as they remain winless in their two matches on the continent’s second biggest stage.

Wydad Casablanca also overcame Azam at home with a 1-0 victory, San Pedro of Ivory Coast beat Djoliba of Mali 2-1 while USM Alger beat Morocco’s Olympique de Safi 1-0 away from home.
