Nigeria’s Head Coach Eric Chelle has named a provisional squad of 55 players ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations due this month in Morocco.

Chelle has largely maintained the core of the team that has been featuring for the Super Eagles in recent engagements, such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Captain William Troost Ekong, striker Victor Osimhen and William Iwobi are all part of the squad summoned.

Others include: Maduka Okoye, Zaidu Sanusi, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Simon Moses, and Chidera Ejuke.

The final team of 28 players is expected to be named nine days from today. Nigeria is in Group C alongside Tunisia, Tanzania and Uganda.

It should be noted that the Super Eagles reached the final in the 2023 edition, losing to the hosts Ivory Coast.
