KCC FC, Azam bag maiden wins in Mapinduzi Cup

Azam FC (Tanzania) 1-0 KMKM (Zanzibar)

Mtende (Zanzibar) 0-3 KCC FC (Uganda)

Ugandan champions KCC FC and Tanzania Vodacom Premier League winners Azam FC both bagged wins in Mapinduzi Cup in their second games of the tournament.

KCC beat Mtende of Zanzibar 3-0 with goals coming through Herman Wasswa and William Wadri with the former scoring in the 41^st minute while the latter notched a brace with goals coming in the 65^th and 66^th minutes.

In the other group game, Azam FC edged another Zanzibar side KMKM with a 1-0 victory. Defender Shomari Kapombe scored the lone goal in the 18^th minute. Ugandan midfielder Brian Majwega featured for Azam FC.

The results mean KCC FC sit top of group B with four points same as Azam but the Ugandan side have a better goal difference.

KCC FC’s next fixture is against KMKM while Mtende will play Azam.
