Uganda Cranes centre back Jordan Obita has sounded confident ahead of the must win clash against Nigeria in group C of the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Fes on Tuesday.

Bottom of the log, Uganda must pick maximum points and stand an opportunity of reaching the knock out round of the tournament in Morocco.

The Cranes drew 1-1 with Tanzania in the last game with Allan Okello missing a late penalty.

“The team spirit is very high,” Obita confidently told reporters in Fes. “You know in the previous game we had a big opportunity to win the game but it wasn’t to be,” he added.

“We train for the game tomorrow and we know we have to win. We go in with belief and no fear and that is what we are going to do.”

Uganda has a decent record against the Super Eagles and as well won the only Afcon meeting 2-1 in 1978 enroute to reaching the final.
