Nigeria Super Eagles take on the AFCON 2025 hosts Morocco in an explosive semi-final contest in Rabat as the tournament record winners Egypt will tussle Senegal during the other semi-final in Tanger city ahead of Sunday’s final showdown.
Journalists at the main media center in Rabat keenly highlighted about the peak-form of Nigerian midfielder Alexander Chuka Iwobi at the on-going AFCON 2025 football championship in Morocco.
“What has been the secret to your great form at the AFCON 2025?” one journalist boldly inquired from the Fulham midfielder at the fully packed official pre-match press conference.

He smiled heartily before responding; “For sure, my family, friends, teammates and fans all acknowledge my good form. In my career, I have played in different roles and positions, I am always ready to deliver.”
Such was the bold and confident response from the 29-year-old former Arsenal and Everton midfielder.
Prior to the Morocco contest in the semi-finals at the Prince Moulay Abdellaziizi stadium on Wednesday evening, Iwobi called for collective display.
“We always give 100 percent in every game. We take the same mindset, mentality, application and attitude to the game as well. The FIFA World cup qualifiers disappointment is now the motivation” Iwobi who was flanked by his head coach Eric Chelle added.

He openly expressed the readiness in the battle against Morocco, urging respect and diligence.
“We respect every opponent. We are ready for the challenge (against Morocco). As a team, we have a sense of brotherhood and family hood. Everyone is entering their prime. The team chemistry is not only on the pitch but also off the pitch.” He spoke of the team strategy.
“We have quality players on the team.On the pitch, we are ready to war and fight. There are no distractions.” Iwobi who is capped 94 times for the Super Eagles remarked.

Nigeria is unbeaten since the tournament kicked off; scoring 14 goals in five outings and conceding 4 goals.

The Super Eagles opened up with a 2-1 win over Tanzania in Fes. They also won 3-2 and 3-1 over Tunisia and Uganda at the same fortress to advance at the round of 16.
They were in demolition form at the round of 16, winning 4-0 over Mozambique in Fes city before a commanding 2-0 win over Algeria during the quarter finals in Marrakech city.
