Morocco reached the Afcon 2025 final following a win over three-time champions Nigeria at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat.
The game ended goalless after 120 minutes including extra time with Yassin Bonou saving two penalties in the shootout to take his country closer to a second title.
They will now face Senegal who beat Egypt 1-0 in the other semi-final but how did the Atlas Lions rate on the day of tension.
Yassine Bonou 9.0: He didn’t do as much in the 120 minutes making one good save to stop Ademola Lookman. But his heroics in the shootout give Morocco the victory.
Achraf Hakimi 8.0: Defensively solid but also an asset going forward as he created some decent chances and also nearly won a penalty for his team with a shot that hit Bassey’s arm.
Noussair Mazraoui 8.5: He was immense defensively winning over 13 of the 18 duels. He also joined in attack and created a good chance in the second half with his marauding runs down the left flank.
Adam Masina 7.5: He was composed and defensively astute throughout the game keeping both Akor and Osimhen silent.
Nayef Aguerd 8.0: Arguably the best centre back in the tournament. Completely nullified the Nigerian threat both in the air and on the ground. Denied by the post late on and his passing from the back was brilliant.
Ismael Saibari 7.5: Energetic, skillful and set the tempo of the game with his intelligent play. Tested Nabwali inside the area after turning the Super eagles defence inside out.
Bilal El Khannouss 7.0: A well-rounded display of control and creativeness before he was subbed off in the 84th minute.
Neil El Aynaoui 8.0: He won the most duels in midfield and passed the ball with accuracy of highest order. A dominant force in the middle over 120 minutes and scored from the spot.
Brahim Diaz 5.0: Rightly substituted after failing to impact the game like he has previously done. However, his effort was on show as usual.
Ayoub El Kaabi 6.0: Battled for every ball against the big Calvin Bassey and won over six duels. He put in a good shift but against a tough centre back pairing.
Substitutes
Oussama Targhalline 6.0: Added fresh legs in the midfield keeping Morocco in control.
Hamza Igamane 5.0: Had a few decent touches with his bundle of skills but saw his penalty saved.
Youssef En-Nesyri 6.0: His presence gave Morocco a different dimension in attack. Kept his nerves calm to score the winning penalty.
Eliesse Ben Seghir 6.0: The youngster showed maturity of his order to score a penalty in the shootout.

Coach
Walid Regragui 8.0
A tactical masterclass that gave Morocco control by isolating Nigeria key players in creative roles Ademola Lookman and Alex Iwobi. He also took risks with his substitutions including withdrawing the ineffective Brahim Diaz on the day.
