The first round of the 2026 Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Qualifying School teed off on Saturday, 17th January at Kensville Golf & Country Club in Ahmedabad city, India.
Rajesh Kumar scored 3-under-69 to command the lead after the first 18 holes.
Uganda’s Marvin Kibirige is among the five golfers jointly tied in second place with 1-under-71.
Rishi Raj Rathore, Shubham Kumar, Aryav Shah and MD Nawab are all tied alongside Kibirige.
Kibirige scored four birdies on holes 5,6, 10 and 12 with pars on 2, 3, 7,8,9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17.
The Equity Bank sponsored Ugandan professional had three bogies on holes 1, 4 and 18.
Thirty one golfers made the cut and will progress to the second round on Sunday, 18th January 2026.
At the conclusion of 72 holes, the leading players (+ ties) will be ranked in their respective categories for 2026 as A (full card), B, C and D.
The number of players to qualify under category A (full card) will be announced before the start of the final qualifying school.
