UPDF FC put their struggles in the Uganda Premier League aside to brush aside Nsambya SC as the two teams faced off on Thursday.

In the round of 64 game played at St. Peters SS Nsambya, the Army side secured a 2-1 win over the Kampala Regional League outfit to proceed to the next stage.

Andrew Samson Kigozi fired UPDF FC into the lead in the 33rd minute thus leading at halftime.

The hosts levelled matters in the 69th minute through former SC Villa captain Joseph Nsubuga who converted from the spot.

Ten minutes later, UPDF FC were able to regain their lead through an own goal by Boniface Ekengu.

The Army side join holders Vipers, KCCA FC, Mbarara City and Express FC as the other UPL team that has progressed to the round of 32.
