Denis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns is one of the teams fighting for the five remaining slots in the quarter finals of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2025/26.

As we enter the decisive match day six, only record holders Al Ahly of Egypt, reigning champions Pyramids and Mali’s Stade Malien are safe with slots in the last eight.

In Group A, holders Pyramids are comfortable at the summit with 13 points and will host Power Dynamos knowing their place is already secured. The real battle is for second spot, where Berkane of Morocco and Zambia’s Power Dynamos are level on seven points.

Berkane must beat already eliminated Rivers United and need a victory to guarantee qualification. Power Dynamos must better Berkane’s result to advance as they are behind the Moroccan side on head-to-head.

In Group D, Stade Malien have confirmed top spot with 11 points. Esperance Tunis and Atlético Petroleos, both on six points, are locked in a direct battle for the second qualification place. Esperance host Atlético Petroleos in what promises to be a decisive showdown, while already eliminated Simba conclude their campaign against Stade Malien.

As the group stage draws to a close, drama is guaranteed across Africa.
