Uganda Premier League | Result
- Calvary 0-0 Express
Calvary and Express fire blanks in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Midigo Primary School playground in Yumbe on Wednesday.
Calvary secured the fifth draw of the campaign. It has not been an easy stay for the Yumbe-based side that has suffered 12 defeats in the top tier.
On the other hand, Express has had a stop-and-start run that has seen them secure only four wins, make six draws and suffer seven losses.
Calvary searched for an early lead but Simon Odeke’s effort went over the bar, leaving the crowd in great anticipation.
The Red Eagles had a chance to take the lead through Elvis Ssekajugo but the midfielder’s effort was put wide after Eric Otingcwinyu’s mistake at the back.
The hosts came close through Lawrence Olaboro but his effort was cleared off the line by Ashraf Mbazira, thus keeping Express in the game.
Late in the second half, Odeke found himself in a promising position, but his resultant effort was well saved by Express goalkeeper Khassim Hafizu.
After picking a point, Calvary remain at the bottom of the log with five points while Express remain 11th with 18 points.
