Express Football Club eliminated second division entity Ntugasaze out of the 52nd Stanbic Uganda Cup with a 2-0 result at the Kiira road Police Arena in Kamwokya on Wednesday evening.
A goal in each half from Mikidadi Ssenyonga and Henry Wamala inspired the Red Eagles to victory.
Express seeks for the 11th Uganda Cup title in the championship that has been played since 1971.

Meanwhile, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) also eliminated FUFA Big League side Blacks Power 6-5 in post match penalties at Hamz Stadium (Nakivubo War Memorial grounds).
Normal time of this contest had ended goal-less before the spot kicks were called.
In the other contest, Onduparaka, a FUFA Big League club progressed with a 5-4 post match penalty win over Football Classroom after yet another goal-less stalemate in normal time.
At Al Madinah stadium in Kabale, Kigezi Home Boyz suffered a 3-4 post-match penalty loss to visiting Home Boys Kagaba.
Normal time was 1-all before the post match penalties were called to determine who makes it to round of 16.
At the FUFA Kadiba stadium, Sports Club Villa made it to the next round with a 4-3 win in post-match penalties over visiting BUL.
Ninety minutes’ action was 2 goals apiece.
Sports Club Villa, Onduparaka, URA, Express and Home Boys Kagaba all make it to the round of 16 to join the other successful clubs as Vipers, KCCA and Kitara.
Holders Vipers hammered Pajule Lions 6-0 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Captain Milton Karisa led by example with two goals, same as the on-form Abdul-Karim Watambala.
The other two goals came from Arafat Usama Kiza and substitute Gusto Wa Mulongo.
KCCA edged Mbarara City 1-0 at the MTN Omondi stadium courtesy of skipper Fillbert Obenchan’s goal whilst Kitara smiled past Entebbe UPPC 2-0 at the Royal’s Park in Butema.
George Ssenkaaba and Alex Emmanuel Wasswa scored for Entebbe UPPC.
The round of 32 continues on Thursday, 26th February 2026.
The Stanbic Uganda Cup winner earns a ticket to represent the country at the CAF Confederation Cup.
