Juma Miyaji

Juma Miyaji is relishing a rare opportunity for him, featuring in the Namibian 50 Over League.

The young fast bowler has had his stock rising since he made his debut for the Cricket Cranes in 2022, and after a month-long stay with the Gulf Giants during the ILT20 season, he has landed another playing opportunity outside of Uganda.

Juma Miyaji will play for ATG WHSOBCC 1 in Namibia after landing an invitation from a fierce competitor turned friend, Namibian Captain Gerhard Erasmus. The two have met at various African competitions, but their connection at the Gulf Giants sealed the deal for Juma to make a case for himself.

I am very excited for this opportunity to get to play with some quality players, this chance allows me to test my skills in unfamiliar conditions and I want to leave an impression on my team. I have featured in two games so far and been able to pick up four wickets though the runs are yet to flow.

This opportunity will allow Juma to flex muscle with some of the best players on the African continent, with Namibia returning from an unsuccessful campaign at the T20 World Cup in India.

The Cricket Cranes will be visiting Namibia for a T20/50 over series against the hosts and will have the advantage of one of their own with a good understanding of the conditions. Miyaji will be with his host club till the Cricket Cranes link up with him for their series tour.
