YMCA recorded a 1-0 victory on the road at Busitema during Group C of the 2025/26 Pepsi University Football League on Sunday, 1st March 2026 in Eastern Uganda.

Farouk Wasswa scored the all-important goal for the visitors in the 67th minute.

Busitema University had a life-line moment to at least earn a point in the game but Musa Nsubuga’s penalty was shot wide.

YMCA ascended to the summit of the group C with 7 points from 3 matches, same as Kyambogo University.

Meanwhile, Busitema University remains bottom placed with no victory in three matches.

Makerere University recovered from a goal down to defeat Uganda Christian University (UCU) 2-1 at the Makerere University sports grounds.

Harry Abiti put Uganda Christian University ahead before a second half brace from Musa Male.

Abiti’s opener came in the 47th minute with Male’s first, the equalizer coming on the hour mark.

Male scored the winner in stoppage time to guide Makerere University to a memorable victory.

Both of Male’s goals were assisted by Emmanuel Ekwong.

This is Makerere University’s third victory in four matches, remaining unbeaten with 9 points.

UCU suffered their second victory as they stay with four points.

Kampala International University (KIU) humbled University of Kisubi (UniK) 4-0 at Hamz stadium on Friday afternoon.

Emmanuel Okiror, Isaac Musasizi, Patrick Sekandi and Gerald Ndabirawo (penalty) scored for KIU in the one sided duel.

KIU, coached by Steven Akabwayi now has 7 points, same as Kampala University and Uganda Martyrs’ University, Nkozi.

UniK’s Jessy Lukoki remains win-less in four matches.

Makerere University Business School (MUBS) defeated Gulu University 2-0 during a Group D duel at the MUBS Arena, Nakawa.

Timothy Kyagulanyi and Joe Mbabazi scored in either half for MUBS’ victory before the home fans.

Kyagulanyi opened the scoring business with a well struck penalty in the 17th minute.

Mbabazi added the second with three minutes to the climax of the well contested duel.

This was MUBS’ first victory of the season which takes them to three points from two games, same as St Lawrence University and Gulu University.

Lira University is the other team in this pool and has not yet picked a point.

Meanwhile, in Group B; International University of East Africa (IUEA) won 3-1 away to Africa Renewal University in Buloba.

Ddrissa Mayinja, Cyprian Okello and Sharif Ssebunya scored for IUEA, a team coached by former Uganda Cranes international Hassan Wasswa Mawanda.

Jamil Kajubi scored the consolation for Africa Renewal University, a well struck penalty.

IUEA gets to four points, five behind leaders Muteesa 1 Royal University. Bugema University has 8 points and Bishop Stuart University is on 6 points.

Muteesa 1 Royal University lost 1-2 to Bugema University at Hamz stadium (Nakivubo War Memorial grounds).

Eric Sawa and Owen Ssenyonga (penalty) were on target for Buge

Ma University in the 48th and 76th minutes respectively.

Brian Rwothomio got the only goal for Muteesa 1 Royal University.

The University Football League will once again continue on Tuesday, 3rd March 2026 as St Lawrence University hosts Lira University at Kavule, along Masaka road.
