The fourth edition of I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series was officially launched at the Kingdom Kampala headquarters with a sponsorship increment to Ug.Shs 796,200,000 from last year’s Ug.Shs 650M.
After successful three editions at the par-71 Entebbe Club, this year’s series return with positive energy, increased sponsorship from partners, four quarterly championships and one unique format; “Its up to me”.
The first tournament of the year will take place on 14th March 2026 under the format “It’s up to me”, an individual event where all players take their tee shots.
“Based on the positions of the balls, one player in the group then decides which ball position he or she will take their second shot from and the position where the rest of the group will take their second shots from. The rest of the group members must move their balls to the position dictated and play their second shots from that point until they hole out” Paul Kaheru, the tournament director explained.

Subsequently, the second event will happen on 30th May 2026 under the “Call your shots” format.
The third event comes on 8th August 2026 with the “Tee for me” and the final event of the year shall take place on 28th November 2026 under the interesting “Double Bogey Danger”.
For each of these events, there will be a hole-in-one prize to be competed for, a car by Mitsubishi Motors, insured by GA Insurance.
“I&M Bank looks forward a great new season at Entebbe Club with the I&M Bank Golf series which have been very successful for the last three editions. The new format I believe will bring out the best for golfers. We pledge a very spectacular 19th hole for every championship held. As a bank, we have had exciting products on the market. We expect to host golfers from Limuru club in May this year” Robin Bairstow, CEO – I&M Bank Uganda hinted.

“There will be different prizes given to the excelling golfers per event of the four, with a well-organized dinner from Kampala Serena Hotel, well organized 19th hole experience by Fenon and furniture set up by Goldmans. RwandAir will offer air tickets to the outstanding golfers to the destinations where they fly. We promise the very best as the golfing fraternity looks ahead a very interesting golf series organized by I&M Bank and Katogo” Annet Nakiyaga, the marketing manager of I&M Bank remarked.

Elly Kibuuka Mukasa, the captain of Katogo Golf Series anticipates yet another great golfing year as he lauded all the partners that join hands to make up an eventful event.

The 18th fairway was lit up with solar lights which will be further improved. Last year, 16 Mitsubishi pick-ups were sold in the Kikuube with I&M Bank promotion, there has been a boost for sports tourism” Kibuuka highlighted.
