BUL had to dig deep to overcome Buhimba United Saints as the two teams faced off on Tuesday at the Royals Park, Butema.

The closely contested encounter had few scoring opportunities, but Karim Ndugwa netted the lone goal to guide the Eastern Giants to victory.

Ndugwa was in the right position to head home from Richard Okello’s delivery from a free kick in the 89th minute.

The win lifted BUL up to 8th place on 29 points while Buhimba remain just a place above the relegation zone on 15 points.

In the other game played on Tuesday, Maroons edged bottom-placed Calvary 1-0 at Midigo Primary School Playground thanks to Ivan Asaba’s goal.

Elsewhere, Police edged SC Villa 1-0 in Kamwokya, while Mbarara City earned bragging rights in the Western Derby, overcoming Mbarara City 1-0.
