ALL AFRICA GAMES QUALIFIER: Mozambique Vs Uganda – Sat, 21st. Feb 2015

Ahead of the first leg All Africa Games football fixture between the hosts, Mozambique and Uganda, the Uganda Kobs head tactician is worried of the large number of first time players on the team.

We face Mozambique with 12 new players who had never traveled on the plane. In terms of experience and exposure to continental football, they are just on level

The Serbian born tactician said as the team departed for Maputo.

Apart from goal keeper, Isma Watenga and midfielder, Farouk Miya, who have been regular figures on Uganda Cranes home and away trips, Brian Ochwo and Gaddafi Kiwanuka are the other two players with continental club experience with SCVU and KCC respectively.

The other players are all first time air travelers who haven’t been exposed to any form of continental football action.

Perhaps, Micho quickly asserts that the few experienced players on the team will help the rest in a quick acclimatization process.

We the Cranes traveled to Tanzania last year for the CHAN qualifier, who were in a similar situation. The two first center halves (Savio Kabugo and Richard Kasagga) had never played at the international level, but they quickly adjusted to the demands of the game

Micho highlighted.

The passport office failed to process two passports for Tadeo Lwanga and striker Julius Malingumu in time. Malingumu who had been named on the early traveling team was thus replaced by BUL F.C anchorman, Hashim Sempala.

Vipers midfielder, Farouk Miya will captain the team, deputized by goal keeper, Ismail Watenga.
