The 2026 USSSA football championships for Fort Portal Tourism city successfully concluded at Kichwamba playground.
St Leo’s College – Kyegobe and King of Kings Secondary School won the boys and girls categories, respectively.
The boys’ finale witnessed St Leo’s College Kyegobe defeating Mpanga Secondary School 3-2 in post-match penalties after normal time had ended goalless.
Fort Portal SS won 4-2 in penalties against Nyakasura School to finish third and take bronze. Normal time of this contest was 1-all.
For the girls, King of Kings Secondary School edged City Hills 2-1 courtesy of goals from Sheilla Kobugabe and Dorothy Musiimenta.
The third-place playoff had St Maria Goretti beat Kyebambe Girls 4-3 in post-match penalties after a 1-all draw.
The Rwenzori Region matches to determine who qualifies for the nationals will take place in Bunyangabu district.
The 2026 National Championships will be hosted in the northern city of Lira.
