Uganda’s Group stage matches:

St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende, the Uganda representatives at the 2026 CAF African Schools football championship face hosts Zimbabwe in the tournament’s official opening match.

The team that was flagged off last week from the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende has since held three training sessions at the Gateway High School in Harare city on Easter Sunday.

“We are prepared and ready for the game against the hosts which we need to win to boost our chances of winning this championship” head coach Hassan Zzungu remarked.

According to the team media officer in Harare, Aisha Nakato, the official opening ceremony was shifted from the Ngoni stadium to Gateway Highway School stadium on Easter Monday.

Group A has Uganda (St Mary’s Boarding School, Kitende), hosts Zimbabwe, North Africans Morocco and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Tanzania is the reigning champions (boys) and Ghana has the girls’ title.

Meanwhile, Uganda is also represented by Isaac Ssentongo, a young referee who was selected through the CAF Young Referees’ Programme.
