Kitara shared spoils with Vipers in the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup in a frustrating goalless draw at Royal’s Park Butema on Sunday.
The hosts were the most dominant side on the afternoon and had chances to win the game but were denied by poor finishing and good goalkeeping by Vipers’ Denis Kiggundu.
Ismael Kiyonga rates the Royals at Butema
Meddie Kibirige 6.0: Rarely tested on the afternoon but pulled off two good saves and remained composed in his own area.
Henry Musisi 6.0: Saw his cross tipped on the cross bar by Kiggundu early in the game and was solid against Yunus Sentamu and company.
Murushid Jjuuko 6.0: Had a good game keeping Vipers’ attackers quiet.
Isa Lumu 6.0: Physically imposing against Beyuku and later Mulongo. Won almost all aerial duels against the opponents.
Jasper Aheebwa 4.0: Lucky to escape a red card following a high boot on Karisa in the first half otherwise played well.
Yunus Sibira 7.0: Another decent performance from the Royals’ number 7. Decisive and bravely tackled.
Hussein Ssenoga 6.5: Seamlessly moved the ball into attack and won several fouls.
Gadafi Wahab 6.0: Part of the dominant three-man midfield and drove the ball into attack creating opportunities for his forwards.
Patrick Kaddu 6.0: Good hold up play despite playing mainly on the left. Gave Mandela some tough afternoon.
George Ssenkaaba 5.0: Kept quiet by the centre back pairing of Mukundane and Torach. Rightly replaced by Muhammad Shaban at halftime.
Jimmy Kalema 6.0: Gave Ndahiro a lot to deal with down the right flank.
Substitutions
Kabon Living 7.0: Tested Kiggundu with several attempts especially from set-pieces and was frustrated not to get on the score sheet.
Muhammad Shaban 5.0: Kept under scrutiny by the Venoms defenders and rarely given space to operate in.
Frank Tumwesigye 5.0: Tasked with adding creativity to the midfield and did averagely well.
