  • Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 AS FAR

Aubrey Modiba scored a brilliant free kick in the first half as Mamelodi Sundowns edged visiting AS FAR Rabat 1-0 at the Loftus Versfield stadium in Pretoria in the first leg of the Caf Champions League final.

The left back sent a fierce shot over the wall and into the back of the net in the 37th minute in a fixture they dominated more so in the second half.

The first half was closely contested but Sundowns created the better chances in the second half with Bryan Leone the chief culprit for missing the most chances.

Meanwhile, the second half was delayed with Video Assistant Refereeing (VAR) suffered a hitch but later in the game, it was rectified.

FAR Rabat were defensively resilient and conceding just one-goal will leave them believing they can overturn that deficit come next Sunday.

For Sundowns, however, the victory continues their impressive continental campaign and keeps alive hopes of lifting the CAF Champions League title for the second time in their history after their triumph in 2016.
