World Lacrosse has confirmed the venue and dates for the 2026 African Sixes Lacrosse Championships for both men and women.

The city of Johannesburg in South Africa will host this championship at the St. Stithians College between 1st to 5th December 2026.

The tournament will serve as the primary continent qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse sixes championship in Tokyo Japan.

This will be the first step on the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games in the United States of America (USA).

Hosts South Africa will be joined by Uganda, Kenya as well as West Africans Ghana and Ivory Coast at the championships that will be competed by either gender.

We are excited to have a timeline to work with and we call upon government through its departments to support the team sport Olympic qualifications journey for Uganda Lacrosse national women’s and men’s teams.

The top finishers from the men’s and women’s competitions will each advance to the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships.
