Victoria Crocs secured a well-deserved 64-58 victory against the KCCA Panthers in a thrilling National Basketball League encounter at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
The Panthers opened the game with a 5-0 run, sparked by Gaius Mahamba’s three-point jump shot, but ultimately trailed by two points at the end of the opening period.
The Victoria Crocs then kept their foot on the gas, building a commanding 12-point lead (38-26) going into halftime.
KCCA mounted a comeback in the third quarter, outscoring the Crocs 15-13, but the university side still maintained a comfortable 14-point cushion heading into the final frame.
Despite a fierce late-game charge by the Panthers in the fourth quarter, the Crocs held firm to walk away with a six-point victory.
Choul Nyot led the scoring for the Crocs as the team’s only player in double digits with 17 points, while Mahamba topped the charts for the Panthers with 11 points.
