Uganda U17 Women’s Football National Team wrapped up their preparations for the upcoming CECAFA U17 Women’s Championship with a friendly game against Ethiopia on Thursday morning.
The game played at Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa ended in a three-all draw with Uganda’s Teen Cranes needing to come from two goals down.
Lidya Eaysu grabbed a quick brace, scoring in the first and eigth minute before Joan Namakula and Martha Babirye scored shortly before the half hour mark to level the game.
In the second half, Mairhat Aeyel fired Ethiopia back into the lead in the 65th minute, but Uganda once again got the equalizer, this time through Flavia Yagala, who tucked home deep in stoppage time.
Uganda will now travel to Dar es Salaam for the CECAFA Championship that begins on 13th June.
The Teen Cranes are in Group B which has Zanzibar, Djibouti and South Sudan.
