Japan players celebrate the late equalizer

2026 FIFA World Cup
Group F:

  • Netherlands 2-2 Japan
  • Sweden 5-1 Tunisia

Netherlands and Japan played to a 2-all draw in Group F during the on-going 2026 FIFA World Cup at the Dallas Stadium in Arlington.

All the four goals in this game arrived in the final stanza of the game.

Virgi Van Djik gave the Dutch the lead on 51 minutes with a great header.

Keito Nakamura brought the game level 6 minutes later after a decent low drive just outside the goal area.

Crysencio Summerville restored Netherlands’ lead in the 64th minute.

With two minutes to climax the contest, Daichi Kamada grabbed the equalizer for Japan with a powerful header.

Once again, there was a great gesture as Japanese fans stayed back to clean the Dallas stadium stands moments after the game, a culture that has been inherited time over and again.

With Sweden’s massive 5-1 victory on Tunisia later on, Group F has Sweden as the current leaders.

Japan and Netherlands follow suit on a point a piece with Tunisia bottom lagged with no point secured yet.
