After the opening Group C blushes against Morocco with a one-all draw, Brazil needed a perfect instant reaction.
They did so at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia during the comprehensive 3-0 victory over Haiti on Saturday morning.
Matheus Santos Carneiro da Cunha struck a brace, and Vinicius Jose Paixao de Oliveira Junior added the other as the five-time world champions got off the pedal at the championship.
Cunha, who features for Manchester United in the English Premier League, set the ball rolling with a sublime finish in the 23rd minute.
He was again on target in the 36th minute before Vinicius Junior finished off Lucas Paqueta’s long ball on the stroke of half-time.
Brazil lost attacker Raphael Dias Belloli (Raphinha) towards the end of the opening half, with his slot taken by Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha in the 40th minute.
There were no further goals in the second stanza of the game.
Vinicius was deservedly named man of the match, his second at the championship.
Brazil is now top of Group C on goal difference, with the same number of points as Morocco (four).
Morocco beat Scotland 1-0 at the Boston Stadium thanks to Ismael Saibari’s goal in the 2nd minute.
With two losses, Haiti is officially eliminated even before their last group encounter.
