A total of 13 goals were scored in the nine matches played on the opening match day of the 2026 Buganda Masaza Cup at various venues across the Kingdom.

Buweekula Vs Kyadondo action in Mubende

Bulange Group:

Bulange group produced four goals with the official opening match between Buweekula and Kyaddondo ending goal-less at the National Teachers College (NTC) Grounds in Mubende district.

Busujju edged visiting Islanders Buvuma 1-0. Peterson Mudul was on target for Busujju.

Nooldeen Ssembatya (Busujju)

Nooldeen Ssembatya (Busujju) was the man of the match.

Buddu outsmarted Buluuli 2-1 at the Kitovu sports arena. Ronald Obed Giu and Bryan Tumusiime scored two first half goals for Buddu.

Derrick Rwothomio pulled a goal back to give the match a worthy tense ending.

Buddu’s Hassan “Gatta” Kalega was named man of the match.

Masengere Group:

Masengere group had three goals scored; two draws and one victory.

Kyaggwe won 1-0 on the road at Mawokota in Buwama. Lauben Lubwama scored Kyaggwe’s goal. Lubwama was also named man of the match.

This was the only away victory on the opening match day.

At Lutoboka playground in the Ssese Islands, it was a one-all draw between Ssese and Bulemeezi.

Raymond Kayemba scored for Ssese and Shafiq Nyanzi replied for Bulemeezi.

Busiro and five time record champions Gomba played to a goalless draw at the Trinity College playground in Nabbingo.

Goalkeeper Hamza Lutaaya (Busiro) was named man of the match.

Muganzirwazza Group:

Muganzirwazza pool produced the most goals; six.

Dassan Mubiru was on target as Butambala smiled past Mawogola 1-0.

In Mityana, at the Ssaza ground; Ssingo overcame visiting Kabula 2-1. Shakulu Kapio and Mathew Luswabi found the back of the net for Ssingo.

Amos Waga Leku pulled the consolation for Kabula.

In Bugerere; it was a 1-all draw between Bugerere and Kooki.

David Ovamas Opio scored for Bugerere and Collins Ocatre was on target for Kooki.

The tournament is organized by the Buganda Kingdom ministry of sports, arts and youth.

It is bankrolled by Airtel Uganda, Centenary Bank, CBS radio, bbs telefaina, Nivana, UNAIDS, Majestic brands, Plascon and Uganda AIDS Commission.
