Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club has continued with the off-season preparations for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.

KCCA’s spending spree to reinforce the squad has continued with the acquisition of defender-cum-midfielder Maxwell Owachgiu on a two-year tenure.

Owachgiu last season played at relegated Buhimba United Saints, where he was captain. He had earlier captained Kitara Football Club for four seasons.

The new signing is a proven leader on and off the field of play; he plays his heart out and is a committed soul.

I am here to work hard, defend the badge, and win with my mates. Joining KCCA FC is a huge step in my career, and it is an honor to wear this shirt. I have played against this club many times, and I know the standards of excellence the fans demand. Reuniting with some players I have played with before, as well as Coach Brian, is fantastic. I am here to work hard, defend the badge, and win with my mates.

This marks the club’s third unveiling after Elvis Ngonde and Charles Lwanga.

The move bolsters KCCA’s defence and midfield departments prior to the forthcoming StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

Maxwell is a player whose work ethic and discipline I know inside out. He brings so much to this side, including leadership qualities. Signing him on a two-year deal guarantees us a proven winner who understands the pressure of competing at the highest level in Ugandan football.
