Uganda’s Esther Chebet ran a Personal Best in the final of the Women’s 10,000m at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Chebet clocked 31:55.70 but was unfortunate to miss out on the bronze medal after being outsprinted on the home stretch by Rwanda’s Florence Niyonkuru (31:55.47).
The race was clinched by Australia’s Rose Davies, who ran a Seasonal Best time of 31:39.32.
Kenyan Diana Wanza settled for silver with a time of 31:50.13.
The race also had two other Ugandans: Joy Cheptoyek and Rebecca Chelangat.
Cheptoyek set her seasonal best time of 32:01.92 in 6th place, and so did Chelangat with 32:16.28 in 8th place.
Fourteen ladies completed the Women’s 10,000m final.
