Rayon Sport reached the final of the Cecafa Kagame Cup after overcoming South Sudan’s Jamus FC 3-1 in the semi-final at Pele stadium, Kigali.

Backed by a mammoth crowd, Rayon Sport took the lead inside 17 minutes when Akbar Mundeli opened the scores with a beautiful goal.

Ibrahim Djingarey doubled the lead in the 57^th minute but the lead was halved in the Bandiougou in the 71^st minute as Jamus attempted a comeback.

But Gloire Tambwe put the icing on the cake in the last minute of additional time.

It is the first time Rayon Sport will play in the Cecafa Kagame Cup final since 1998 when they beat Zanzibar’s Mlandege to lift the first regional trophy for Rwanda as a nation.

They will face Kenya’s Gor Mahia in the final on Friday at Amahoro stadium in Kigali with a trophy and $ 30,000 at stake.

Jamus and Al Hilal will contest the 3^rd place play off in the early kick off on the day.
