SC Villa captain Isaac Kirabira has congratulated Vipers upon winning the 2014/15 title despite a looming boardroom decision from an appeal by his side.

Kirabira said this in the aftermath of Vipers 2-0 victory over SC Villa at Nakivubo on Friday which opened up a four point gap at the summit of the table with only one round of fixtures left.

“I think they did well and deserve to be champions,” he told the media. “We didn’t play well particularly in this game. We were uncoordinated and failed to assert any authority on the field of play,” he added.

The one man club however thanked the SC Villa fans for the turn throughout the entire season and apologized for the disappointment but promised that with a Uganda Cup final against rivals KCC FC coming next month, they must keep the spirit.

“Our fans have been so wonderful the entire campaign and no words can describe how grateful we are as players for their support. It’s hurting that we disappointed them by not winning the championship but we still have a chance to give them a smile with a Uganda Cup triumph.”

SC Villa will play rivals KCC FC in the Uganda Cup final at a yet to be named venue on June 6.
