On 12th August 2026, offensive midfielder Saidi Mayanja made 23 years of age.

This is the prime time of most successful sportsmen to deliver at the highest tier in their career with wise decisions at hand.

Mayanja is currently employed by 13-time Uganda Premier League champions Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) football club.

His pathway to stardom has been organic with quick grasp of football skills from infancy while in primary school and polished whilst at different academies and secondary schools.

From the little boy born in Kyotera, Southern Uganda, Mayanja has matured into the footballer adored by many across the divide.

Mayanja commenced his football journey at MYDEL football academy and Edgars Youth Programme.

He studied and played football at known footballing hubs of Old Kampala S.S, Kawempe Muslim S.S and Kibuli S.S.

He has already featured for the Uganda U-20, U-23, CHAN team and also made the squad for the senior national team, Uganda Cranes.

Mayanja boldly attests that this remains work in progress.

“I am thankful to the Almighty for the journey moved thus far.” The midfielder with quick acceleration opens up.

“Perhaps, it remains work in progress. I want to play in the world’s best leagues and get more international caps with the Uganda Cranes” Mayanja spells out.

Mayanja is blessed with a sublime first touch on the ball, a swift dribbler and passer of the ball as he picks out teammates with ease.

Like his role model, Odegaard of Arsenal football club in the English premier league and the Norwegian national team, Mayanja has exhibited elements of leadership on and off the field of play.

He vividly recalls his best footballing duel thus far when KCCA faced NEC with the outstanding goal coming against Maroons.

This season, Mayanja envisages a spirited performance with KCCA as the 1963 founded club chase their 14th domestic league title.
