Newly unveiled KCCA Women FC midfielder Kayesu Yuster Joan has described her transfer from Rines SS WFC as the proudest moment of her career, setting her sights on silverware with the Queens.
Known affectionately as “Rodri” for her ability to dictate match tempo and maintain midfield composure, the Mukono-born midfielder explained the origins of her moniker during her official unveiling.
“People call me Rodri because my style of play is similar to his; I control the midfield, I read the game, and I keep the team calm,” Kayesu stated.
Explaining her decision to join the club on a three-year deal, the former Rines SS captain pointed to the institution’s stature and clear ambition.
“My biggest achievement so far is earning this move to KCCA Women FC. I chose KCCA because it is a big, well-organised team with a great history. It is the best place for me to develop and win,” she noted.
Looking ahead to her tenure at Lugogo, Kayesu outlined clear personal and collective goals. “My target is to help KCCA Women FC win trophies, grow as a player, and achieve big things in my career. I want to leave a mark at this great club.”
Off the pitch, the firstborn of four balances her athletic career with artistic pursuits. A skilled artist who aspires to build a career in the art world alongside football, Kayesu remains grounded, often spending her free time supporting her mother’s business.
